Online Stained Glass Classes

Along with the classes, supplies, tools and glass we offer in studio, we offer an online class and an Online Store where you can purchase all the supplies & tools you'll need. We have had so many requests over the years for a way for our out of town customers to be able to learn the stained glass craft that we created an interactive stained glass class. We're also planning on adding a week long course in the summer where you can learn stained glass in a week! Come visit our beautiful town and receive special deals on hotel rooms and restaurants in our downtown.

How Do The Online Stained Glass Classes Work?

Once you have received your tools and supplies, you'll review the step-by-step instructional CD and begin your project. If you find that you need help with your project you'll simply sign on to www.stainedglassclass.com and use our live chat program to chat live with your instructor. If you would like to set up a specific class time your teacher will be available for questions at your convenience. If your teacher isn't able to answer your question via the chat classroom then your teacher will tape a live demo and send a downloadable streaming video with a live demonstration to help you on your way.

How Do I Get My Tools & Stained Glass Supplies?

Simply purchase our Stained Glass Tools Package, then pick one of 4 Stained Glass Projects and we'll send you all you need to create your Stained Glass project, includeing a detailed instructional CD on stained glass production. The instructional CD demonstrates techniques in stained glass and introduces you to the tools and stained glass terms. If you have a question, simply type it into your computer and your teacher will help you on your way!

How Much Will All My Tools & Stained Glass Supplies Cost?

Your first class is always the most expensive. There are many tools needed to create stained glass, but once you've purchased all your tools and supplies the expense is limited to your taste in glass for your future projects. To view a list of tools visit our Tools & Supplies page. Stained glass prices vary greatly starting at about $4sq.foot to into the hundreds a square foot. The price varies from machine rolled glass to hand made art glass. Our 4 Stained Glass Projects are all made with Spectrum Glass. Spectrum offers a quality, easy to cut, consistent in color, stained glass. It's priced reasonably and has a wide range of colors & textures available. Creating your own stained glass projects will pay for your tools in no time compared to what you would pay a professional studio to create a piece for you! Visit our online store for costs.

Meet your teacher...

"I consider myself an artist before a glass artist. I think that gives me an edge in my glass art and I'm thankful for the gift. I feel fortunate to have been able to make my living in glass art and I love sharing the art through teaching and creating people's ideas into custom glass for their homes and business."
~Pamela Funk

Creative Glass Carvings has been creating custom art glass (stained & etched), teaching classes and offering stained glass supplies to fellow glass enthuisests for over 29 years. Owner, Pamela Funk, started working in art glass professionally at the age of 16. Having been an artist all her life the transition into glass was exciting and new. It became a lifelong passion that she still enjoys today and still challenges herself to find creative ways to work in glass. Working in glass fusing is the current addition to classes offered at Creative Glass Carvings and custom work. Check the class schedule by clicking on "class schedule" on the gold bar above.

Six years ago Pamela moved her studio to downtown Paradise, where her and her husband Hal added a new facade to the building and added an art gallery gift shop called Fir Street Gallery & Gifts. Her daughter Carly joined her in running the art gallery and the art glass studio by working side by side on not only creating custom stained glass, teaching stained glass and fusing classes but helping customers choose glass, demo tools and give advice on their projects.

This Dogwood panel was

inspired by a piece of Uroboros drapery glass that caught Pamela's eye

while she was at the

wholesale glass warehouse.

She instantly saw the

piece complete in her

minds eye. The dogwood

tree at her home was in full

bloom so Pamela took advantage and

created the drawing for this panel.

Wow Lisa Vogt!   Glass "Quilting Bee" involves 35 local artists

Prolific glass artist Lisa Vogt casts an appraising eye on her latest installation, Kites in Flight, at the Tampa International Airport

Our friend Stan Price, 2006 Snohomish County, WA Artist-of-the-Year and owner of Covenant Art Glass, invited 35 artists from assorted disciplines to contribute their talents to this spectacular Glass Quilt. The project was conceived in support of a planned Community Arts Center, intended to provide live-in studio "homes" for working artists. In keeping with the theme, all artists were given one limitation: incorporate a house motif into the design. Otherwise, they were free to apply their unique artistic style to an 8x8" square of fused and painted glass.

Working side-by-side at the tables of Covenant Art Glass, watercolorists, jewelers, oil painters, and printmakers took counsel from Stan and his staff as they explored the possibilities of working with glass. The result: a monumental artwork to benefit the Arts Council of Snohomish County, a few dozen converts to the medium of fused glass, and a community whose awareness of glass art has just been kicked up a significant notch.

Spectrum Glass donated materials for this project; Stan donated time and workspace; a local window manufacturer donated the framing; and proceeds from the sale of the work will help fund the new arts center. The quilt is currently on display in the County Administration building.
